Is Gellan Gum Organic?

It is important to choose the right gum because the stakes are high,there will be headaches and delays downstream for wrong gums in your formulation.

Another frequently asked question is related to the availability of organic versions of gellan gum.
Gellan Gum is chemical product but made by fermentation process,it can be called natural gum, but it has been listed as one of "non-organic"ingredient for use in organic foods & beverages by USDA National Organic Program(NOP).
so gellan gum does not currently meet the requirements of the NOP.
So,there are no certified organic grades of gellan gum, there are grades that can be classified as "organic compliant."
“What is the difference between organic and Non-GMO?”
According to the Non-GMO Project website, a GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. In order for an ingredient to be deemed organic, it cannot be genetically modified. That is to say, all ingredients that fall under the organic category, are automatically considered Non-GMO as well.
GMO status is just one of the requirements that qualifies a product as organic. In additional to being Non-GMO, products making an organic claim must be produced and handled without the use of prohibited substances, methods and ingredients as outlined in 7 CFR Part 205 of the National Organic Program.
While all types of gellan gum we produced are Non-GMO.

Gellan gum is not "organic certified ingredient", but gellan gum is "organic compliant ingredient" and it is allowed to use in organic products.some other ingredients like Xanthan gum,Carrageenan,Sodium alginate are not organic certified ingredients too,but still they can be used in organic food & beverages.
